It is our honor to welcome you delegates to the United Nations Environment Programme of the eleventh edition of WAMUN 2016. UNEP is the leading environmental authority worldwide and the one that sets the environmental agenda, promotes the implementation of environmental sustainable development within the United Nation system and serves as an authority supporter for the global environment. Its mission is "to provide leadership and encourage partnership in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing, and enabling nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations." My name is Isabella Castro and I will be you chair during the conference. Since I was in sixth grade I have participated in several models such as JMUN, WAMUN, LAIMUN and AAMUN, on raging positions from admin, to delegate, to secretary, to chair. Your co-chair will be Alexandra Gazzani and your secretary will be Gabriela Piovesan. We are all eager to have you as delegates this year and expect to have a great conference. We hope the topics interest you to make the committee more enjoyable. It is important for you as delegates to make viable arguments to get to a solution about the issues being discussed. My advice is that you look for past solutions on these topics and to seek for alternative ones. The booklet was prepared to facilitate delegates their research about the topics and give them a clear idea of what the committee will be discussing throughout WAMUN. Nevertheless, we encourage you to undertake further research to make the sessions more fruitful.
